Tour details.

1. Achilleion - beautiful Sissi's Palace and Gardens ( 45 minutes stop )

In Corfu there are many places that are worth seeing and visiting when you’re holidaying on the island. A truly must-see place is Achillion Palace located only 10 km from Corfu Town in the little village of Gastouri. Gastouri is a small and extremely picturesque village that is traditional in its values, preservation, and history.

Achillion Palace is a luxurious and beautiful villa and it was originally built for the Elisabeth von Wiltelsbach Empress of Austria or widely known as Princess Sissy. The palace shows Princess Sissy’s love for Greek mythology and it is called Achillion to honour the Greek hero Achilles.

The villa itself was built in 1892 by the Italian architect Raphael Carito. The Princess used the villa as a summer retreat until her assassination in 1898 while in Geneva. Remember that her assassination was later turned into a film in 1955 starring the famous actress of her time Romy Schneider. It wasn’t until 1907 that the Achillion was bought by Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany. He used the palace as a place to go to unwind and relax.

2. Perama - Mouse island, Kanoni, Vlacherna Church, Corfu airport views.

3. Bella vista point ( Via Ropa Valley ) 20 minutes stop

We drive along the scenic Ropa Valley, to the hilltop village of Lakones and the lookout point known as Bella Vista. One of the most famous spot for photos in Europe !

4. Paleokastritsa main beach ( 45 minutes stop )

The main beach is quite small and very popular. It is surrounded by bars and hotels and there is a road behind the beach. But the views of the cove are great. You can get a boat here which takes you around the many caves in the area. You will enjoy sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear very cool water. Cold water is one of the most characteristic features of the sea in the area; even in full summer, the sea never gets hot.

5.  Paleokastritsa - beautiful coastal views as we return to Port/Corfu town

Paleokastritsa is situated 16 miles north-west of Corfu's attractive capital, Corfu Town. Paleokastritsa beach is famous for its clear water and striking blue-green colours. In fact it is one of a string of six spectacularly situated coves. There is a small sandy beach to the north and another small sandy strip around the headland serviced by boat taxis so they are rarely peaceful. Rocks provide great points for diving. Warm blue-green waters wash against the beaches and the bays are popular places to go snorkelling or scuba diving.

Paleokastritsa has plenty of visitors but the bay is big enough to contain them without feeling too busy though visiting day-trippers do push up the prices. Spread over three large bays, the holiday focus is on the main beach, a relatively narrow horseshoe crescent of shingle backed by a large car park choked with coaches.
